Okay, I've tried taking a picture to the stylist, and unless your stylist actually does scene hair a lot, you're not going to get what you want. I suggest finding someone who cut their own scene hair. But, if you have problems doing that. They have magazines with hairstyles in them that they know exactly how to do. More and more scene hairstyles are appearing in them, so look around in them. I've found several hairstyles that I've scene scene girls flaunting in myspace pics, so they're probably your best bet. You can find them at any place that sells magazines and they're from $5-$10. 22 Jun 2009 / Reply answer / 0

just take a picture with you to get the haircut most anybody should know how to cut it. but somebody younger is going to be your best bet. the less time they look like they've been out of beauty school the more they probably know about cutting hair for the new trends and styles.

people fresh out of school should already have experience cutting other people's hair. if anything, they are the best people to go to because they know all the rules. as you get more experienced, you tend to slack off more. but it doesnt matter who does it as long as it comes out rite. The best thing for you to do is go to a salon with a picture of what you want. They should know what to do based off the picture. I should know... im currently attending cosmetology school and i've cut many peoples hair... from looking at the pictures below... i would say you want a blunt cut in the nape section and a graduated square layers in the rest of your hair. hope that helps.

Honestly, your best bet is to just hunt around for local haircut places. Most stylists have been trained in a varying array of trendy and "in" styles - and the "scene" look is pretty popular - you'll probably have to just describe what it is you want done or bring in/find a picture of what you're looking for.
My advice, though, is don't choose a place based on their price. Cheaper is NOT always better where hair is concerned and that's one lesson I learned the hard way. lol A lot of the cheaper places around my locality, I found out, are where apprentices and newbies fresh out of school come to gain experience... and trust me, you don't want an inexperienced person "practicing" on your hair with a haircut involving "choppy layers".
So look for a place local to you, but don't be ashamed to ask how long a particular person has been doing hair and if they have any experience in "punk", "emo", or "scene" looks - sometimes if you don't ask you'll never learn, and if the person doesn't even know what you're talking about... they probably won't know how to do that particular cut. lol
So in short - this is more a question you should ask the hair places themselves, but since hair can easily be cut shorter but sometimes takes a while to grow longer, I would suggest trying to find a stylist that's open to suggestion and won't just try to do their own thing or what they think is "best" for you - you know your hair and what you want more than anyone can, so don't be afraid to tell them exactly what you're looking for ahead of time.
