What haircut would be good for my face?
I love Japanese-style cuts, but I'm not sure how well they'd work with my face. I don't want anything too bizarre, just something manageable (20 min. in the morning or less) and cute. My hair is pretty thick and pretty dark brown (I'm half Korean). Anyways, any input would be great! Sorry for the pic... I don't have time to put just a headshot up tonight. ^^; Also, in case you can't tell, my hair is pulled back on the sides with bobby pins.
Thanks!!

Haha sorry about that...when I was talking about the short hair cut, the essential word was missing: "a cute BOB of any kind". ^^ 21 Jan 2009 / Reply answer / 0

Your face shape, as far as I can tell from this pic, is kind of similar to that of Reese Witherspoon - a heart shape. This means that you shouldn't go too "top heavy" if you know what I mean, so I actually wouldn't recommend going shorter than chin length.
You could either let your hair grow out just a bit longer than what it is and get a layered hair cut that falls lightly on your shoulders, possibly with some light side-swept bangs - from what I can see you have just the right forehead for that
Growing your hair longer would definitely suit you, and you have many possibilities to style it to match any occasion. Your hair looks thick and shiny from what I can see, and its a beautiful colour. Those would be some impressive tresses falling over your back!
This shoulder length-or-longer would then also be great for curling the ends a bit for a romantic, sweet look or for pulling it back to a high bun or ponytail, which looks especially good when you have the right bangs to go with it.
If you are feeling more adventurous, go chin-length. A cute of any kind should suit you, especially if you are in the hands of a capable hairdresser. Bangs are never a must, but they of course go very well with short hair cuts.
Btw, the pic is a bit of an "artsy" shot, so for a look to use in real life, where people need to see what they are doing, maybe a bit shorter bangs, but other than that it's a nice example.
Hope this helps!

and PS: Stay away from scene hair cuts or anything like that. That would absolutely not compliment your face shape. Besides, every Ann, Jane and Sally seems to have that nowadays and where is the fun in looking like everybody else? ^^ 21 Jan 2009 / Reply answer / 0
