Time to throw out the Burgandy, perhaps? Should I dye my hair black?

I've ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to dye my hair black, and I've finally taken the first step-I bought the dye! But I'm having second thoughts. The black isn't to look...emo-y/goth-y. It's to have...black dark hair! I think it would look great on me; I've dyed my hair semi-permanately black with purple tips and people have loved it/not complained about it. What do you guys think?
