Teasing my hair?

So lately ive been wanting to try the "pouf" look with teasing my hair. Ive watched a million youtube videos on how to do this, im able to tease it and get the pouf, but for some reason i cant put the bobby pins in or when i do the pouf gets ruined or goes flat etc. Does anyone have any tricks???

you may not need to use as much hair as suggested if yours is really thick, or tease it else or not at all, then just push it up and pin it. only tease the bottom portion if your hair then put a smooth part on top. the trick is to push it to where you want it it should stay pretty well. 21 Oct 2009 / 0

i like to use a bristle barrel brush

it brushes out easy too when your done.. and it makes a tigher knot to me.

i hold up the section of hair and brush downward then twist my wrist toward the knot to give it an extra bit of umph as i brush down 21 Oct 2009 / 0

are you backcombing just right? when you back comb, take a section in the front out, to put over the teased hair so it doesn't look ratted. back comb the rest of the hair approx 3-6 times from the back, and once from the front to lock it in. repeat with the other sections. if you are doing your fringe (im assuming so), pull the teased hair back and just slide the bobby pin to your hair. 21 Oct 2009 / 0 Reply answer
