i want color!!!

its soo plain and boring... its dark brown and smtms has a blonde hue in it. i really want to dye it but no color likes to stay, even a darker brown! im thinkn of a red streak underneath or just fullon underneath red bottom layer. my hair is 2 inches below my shoulders now, would it look good?
