What do you suggest I do re: a Christmas banquet dress?
In about a month, my youth group is having their annual Christmas banquet. This year they're having a red carpet theme, so the dress code is pretty formal (the youth pastor's wife is wearing her wedding dress).
I don't have ANY nice dresses, so I'm going to have to buy something. However, I can't afford to buy something really fancy just for one event. I have a couple upcoming events within the next year or two (a friend's wedding, another friends quince, etc.) I'm just worried about trying to find a dress that's a nice enough balance between casual and formal so that it works for multiple occasions.
Any ideas?

you could wear your old homecoming/prom dress if you still have them. 02 Nov 2009 / Reply answer / 0 Replies

tahts a tough one....during certain seasons formals and semi formals will go on sale and you can get some for twenty to fifty dollars at some department stores' clearance racks. i would also maybe opt for something shorter because shorter can be passed off as formal and semi formal better than longer ones can and their very stylish right now. you can also dress something up for one like with a shawl or heels, or hair pieces. wearing you hair up is more formal than wearing it down, black goes with almost every occasion-except weddings of course ha, um...gray or dark blue or bright purple go well with most all occasions too. 01 Nov 2009 / Reply answer / 0 Replies
My hair is too short to put up, but I am leaning towards a shorter dress
