I actually prefer wikihow's scene selection. It instructs you on the makeup, hair, fashion, and lifestyle all at once. also, since it's writing with minimal pictures, you have room to interpret it in your own way. ;]
But I'll do my best to break down some ideas for you:
Hair: A simple look for you that won't cost much money can be seen in the picture. Go to a stylist and ask for lots of choppy layers on top, and ask them to razorcut some of the thickness out of the bottom. Then get a teasing comb and lots of hairspray (I recommend BigSexyHair hairspray). This look is ultra-rad and definitely goes with the style. Once you have the haircut, dress it up with lots of bow clips and barettes in fun colors.
Make-up: Most scene girls focus on the eyes more than anything else. Dual tones of vibrant, neon colors (think unconvential: pink paired with green, teal paired with yellow, orange paired with purple, etc.) spread over the eyelid. Trace the top lashline with a liquid eyeliner, and the bottom lashline with a pencil liner. Make the lines relatively thick. Apply a coat or two of mascara, and you're good to go!
Fashion: There are plenty of options here. If you're more of a girly girl, pair mini skirts with footless tights and funky flats. If you're a tomboy, get skinny jeans in as crazy of patterns as you can find. Popular trends in the scene world include: clothes with hello kitty, skelanimals, and pokemon on them, bandanas (tied around the wrist, hanging out of back pocket, tied around the neck), earmuffs, band tees. But remember to balance the outfit--you don't want to look like you're trying too hard. Some stores to look into are: H&M, MetroPark, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, Urban Outfitters.
Lifestyle: Basically, this focuses around music. Go to local shows to meet up with other kids who are into the scene. Dancecore and technocore are really popular among scene kids: The Medic Droid, Breathe Carolina, Forever the Sickest Kids, Secret Handshake, etc. Adopt the scene lingo (there's a great wikihow article on this). Never, ever call yourself scene. Be confident, and disregard any negativity. Also, if you're going to be talking to other people into the scene, some people you should know of are: Jeffree Star, Audrey Kitching, Hannabeth, etc. It just helps to know who sets the trends.
Hopefully this helps! If you have other questions or just wanna talk, myspace me. =]

just google it. there's crap ALL over the internet on how to be scene. why else would it be such a trend right now? good luck!
(and i'll warn you now about scene hair, once you cut it, growing it back out when you grow out of the scene is HELL. mine's still not fully grown and it's been a year and a half! and you'll still be known as "scene" even if you aren't, anymore) 23 Dec 2008 / 0
