remove gel nails at home? advice, please.
thanks,
SusieQ
I wish to remove my gel nails at home. Some came off just with filing but others are more stubborn. Will using nail polish remover w/acetone work? This seems to be what my professional uses.

look for a bottle that looks somewhat similar to nail polish remover but it has to have Artificial Nail Remover on it. it works you just have to keep rubbing it like if you're removing nail polish till it's all clear, but it's better than the pain of just biting them off 16 Jul 2009 / Reply answer / 0

Using Nail polish remover COULD work, but it would take HOURS. And this is also dependent on the type of gel that you have on! Some gels are porous, which means you can soak them off in solvent made JUST FOR removing enhancements, but most are NOT. Ask your tech to find out what s/he used, and then go from there. If it IS a soak-off gel, then go pick up a specific solvent meant for soaking off enhancements, as using straight acetone can dry out your hands and cause a WHOLE different set of problems.

Good luck! 11 Nov 2008 / Reply answer / 0 Reply answer
