Completely new to tampons..

So I guess this is a little embarrassing but I suppose every girl goes through it.. So I have the heaviest flow in the entire worlds, not litterally but still. It's pretty heavy. And pads get so annoying, they are always in the way and plus during school and sports they are just so untrusting. So I figured I'd try tampons.

Simply I just don't understand where they go in at, or how they go in? And i've been told to read the box but honestly i'm not that bright, and I do not understand the diagram at all! Can someone just please break this all down for me and help me out?

sit or stand in a comfortable position. some women prefer to place one leg on the toilet seat or tub, while others prefer to squat down. after you find a position that is most comfortable for you, hold the tampon with the fingers that you write with. hold the middle of the tampon, at the spot where the smaller, inner tube inserts into the larger, outer tube. make sure the string is visible and pointing away from your body.
With your other hand, open the labia [the folds of skin around the vaginal opening] and position the tampon in the vaginal opening.
gently push the tampon into the opening, aiming for the small of your back. stop when your fingers touch your body and the applicator, or outer tube, is completely inside the vagina.
once the applicator or outer tube is inside of you, use your index finger to push the inner tube [the tube where the removal string is visible] through the outer tube. this pushes the tampon into the vagina.
once the inner tube is all the way in, use your thumb and middle finger to remove the applicator or outer tube. make sure that the string hangs outside of the vaginal opening.

later, when you are ready to remove the tampon, hold the string and gently pull it downward until the entire tampon is out. (:

looking up a pic is easiest to figure that out

but it's the largest hole at the bottom you insert the tube so the top is all the way in but your fingers can still hold on to the lip on that top part then you push the second piece all the way up to that first lip and it should be inserted

it can feel like it's almost at the edge and the end may even stick out a bit but if that's all you can see then it's not going to come out unless you give the string a tug

and i find using the equate brand from walmart ultra thin pads with wings are actually easier and more comfortable : P

ps try to never leave a tampon in for more than 4 hrs at a time you want to have a fresh one, you don't need all that old blood setting up in there for too long

First of all your right that every girl goes through it!!! Yes tampons are indeed so much easier than pads but it's best if you are heavy to, use maybe a tampon and a pad at the same time just incase. As for using them best to start of with applicator ones i haven't looked back since i started to use them!! t's important to know how to insert a tampon the right way, you've got to relax otherwise it will be uncomfortable!
Sit in a comfortable position, Hold the applicator (where the ridges are on the tube) with the thumb and middle finger of one hand.
Place the tip of the outer tube of the tampon applicator in the opening.
You should slant it upwards, carefully slide the applicator in an upwards and backwards direction.
Onced the outer tube you've pushed it into the big tube and still holding the applicator take it out.
You'll be fine and hope this helps!!
